Mount Meru
A 3–4 day climb with excellent acclimatisation for Kilimanjaro.

Mount Meru, forest and lakes on Arusha's doorstep
Arusha National Park is only about 40 minutes from Arusha town, which makes it ideal for a day trip or the first day of a safari. It covers Mount Meru, Tanzania's second-highest mountain, the Ngurdoto Crater and the shallow Momella Lakes.
It is one of the few northern parks where you can walk with an armed ranger and paddle a canoe, and it is the best place in the north to see black-and-white colobus monkeys.

A 3–4 day climb with excellent acclimatisation for Kilimanjaro.
Alkaline lakes in different shades of green and blue, often with flamingos.
A forested crater with buffalo and warthogs on its swampy floor.
With an armed park ranger.
On Small Momella Lake, where officially available.
